Carl S. Campbell, Jr., 86, of Boiling Spring Lakes, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2010.

He was born on May 6, 1924 in Rowan County, North Carolina, son to the late Carl Spring Campbell, Sr. and Della May Campbell.  He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired after a long career with Eastern Air Lines.  He was married for 54 years to the late Mavis Irene Campbell.  He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes.

Mr. Campbell is survived by two daughters, Linda Campbell Bethune and her husband Earl, and Kathy Anne Campbell; two granddaughters, Kelly Anne Leone and Erin Elizabeth Walton; and 14 special great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Boiling Spring Lakes.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mrs. Beverly Ludlum Winebar, 58 of Southport, passed away Sunday, September 05, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Winebar was born May, 25 1952 in Southport, the daughter of the late Ivon Lee Ludlum and Mildred Aldridge Ludlum. She was born and raised in Southport, attended Southport Baptist Church, and worked for 30 plus years for the Law Office of Grover Gore. Mrs. Winebar was a devoted and loving mother and Na Na. She loved gardening and working in her yard. Mrs. Winebar was also very devoted to the care of her parents prior to their passing.

Surviving are her husband Michael Winebar; a son Shane Winebar; two daughters, Jennifer Winebar Tuttle and husband Curtis of Wilmington, and Amanda Winebar Lumsden and husband Treve of Durham; a brother Wayne Ludlum and wife Laura of Southport; three grandchildren, Catlin Tuttle, Cameron Winebar, and Evan Winebar; and a large extended family.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Southport Baptist Church. Reverend Jason Bland Will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Peacock – Newnam and White Funeral Service in Southport.

Karen Jane Sevast, 61, of Southport died Friday, September 3, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Sevast was born March 9, 1949 in Kingston, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Roger John Howell and Catherine Schulte Howell.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport.

Survivors include her husband Bill Sevast of Southport; son Scott Sevast and wife Silvia of Southport; daughter Tracey Sevast of Wilmington; two brothers Roger Howell of Glenwood, Maryland and Craig Howell of Gaithersburg, Maryland; and one grandson Evan Sevast.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Cape Fear Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service in Southport.

Joseph R. “Bob” Fitzpatrick, of Bolivia, passed away on September 2, 2010 at the age of 79.  He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY close to his beloved Yankee Stadium.  Bob served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Navy. His career took him from New York to Louisiana, where he successfully built and operated two businesses for 25 years. Bob was well-known and respected within his industry. He was an avid sports fan who followed the Fighting Irish through thick and thin and was overjoyed when the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl.

He leaves his wife Mary of 31 years and their beloved dog Kelli.

Family who will miss him include : the McCords – Judy and Don, Wendy and Donny of North Carolina and Maryland; the Catenaccis, Lisa and Tony, Joe, Nicole and Dina of Wilmington.

 The Coopers -  Clint and Bev, Cara and Graham Bowen, Chris and Lindsay Cooper, and Andrew and Meg Whitbeck.  The Raguseos – Nick and Kacey, Elizabeth, Marisa, Nicholas, and Michael.  Linda and Anthony Rispoli, all of New Jersey.

He says farewell to his Schwetji cousins, who were so much a part of his youth.

With his friends in New Orleans, who became family, he found a place where he enjoyed life as much as they did.

Joe Bob has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and now walks peacefully with all of his dogs.

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Emil Eggenschiller announces his passing on at the age of 70. 

Bob was a loving husband for 46 years to Patricia Scola Eggenschiller and beloved father to Michele Morris and Denise Victory and sons-in-law, Ed and Woody, respectively.  He was also a loving grandfather to Christian, Jacob, Madison, Bailie and Emma.  He leaves behind a sister Marean Abramson and her family, mother-in-law Virginia Scola, sister-in-law Donna McClary and husband Andrew, and brother-in-law Ronald Scola and his family.

“Father Bob” was the rector and compassionate shepherd of Christ Church Lockport, New York, Church of the Advent Kenmore, New York, and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Albany, New York.  To know “Bob” was to enjoy his humor, respect his intelligence and leadership ability, and love him for the kind and generous person he was to everyone. 

 A memorial service to celebrate his love of life will be held at 2:00 pm, September 25, 2010 at St. Peter’s Church Albany, New York.

Mrs.Viva Clemmons Lewis, age 87 of Bolivia died Thursday September 2, 2010 at Universal Healthcare Center, Bolivia. Mrs. Lewis had suffered for many years with Alzheimer’s disease. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where she is now free of pain and suffering forever.

 Mrs. Lewis was born in Brunswick County on October 7, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Davis and Erma Edwards Clemmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Lee Lewis. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was an excellent homemaker and wonderful cook, especially her fried chicken which was like none other. Mrs. Lewis also made beautiful crafts and was an excellent seamstress. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

 She is survived by three daughters, Erma Lou Tatum of Bolivia, Diane Davis of Scotts Hill, Prudy Robinson of Supply; a son, Alvie Earl Lewis of Bolivia; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

 Funeral services will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 at 3pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Monroe Cooke and Reverend John Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times from the home of Erma Lou Tatum, 1467 Midway Road, Bolivia.

Mrs. Oleta Farek, 91 of Spring, Texas and formerly of Supply, passed away on August 18, 2010 at the home of her daughter.

Mrs. Farek was born April 11, 1919 in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Morrison Mooney and Mary Simmons Mooney. She returned to Brunswick County in 1982 after spending her working life in Texas. She had been living in Texas for the past three years. Mrs. Farek was preceded in death by her husband Roy Farek; a son Royce Dale Woodyard; a great-grandson Kyle Woodyard, three brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are a son Roscoe Woodyard; a daughter Charlotte Robinson; two grandchildren, Kenny Woodyard, and Patti Connor; and three great-grandchildren, Kendra Woodyard, Blake Connor, and Garret Connor all of Spring, TX.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Shell Point Baptist Church where she was a member. Reverend John Brooks and Reverend Tommy Inman will officiate the service and burial will follow in the Georgetown – Holden Cemetery.

Marion MacNeill, 80 of Calabash, North Carolina died Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Universal Healthcare Facility located in Boliva, in the presence of her husband Colin.

Mrs. MacNeill was born on November 26, 1929 in Elizabeth, NJ. Marion loved to travel the United States and was always ready to hop in the car, at a moment’s notice, to begin a new adventure. During her family’s “growing up” years Marion and Cole would take the family on great excursions through many of our country’s national parks and other points of interest. In 1987 they set course for a trip to the “Last Frontier”, the Great State of Alaska. They were accompanied by Colin’s sister Jesse and her husband Victor of Leavenworth, Kansas. It was a dream fulfilled! In the recent years, they kept their travel local to the surrounding states but continued to travel until Marion’s recent decline in health.

 Marion is survived by her husband Colin of Calabash, who is a WWII Veteran, daughters Carol and Joyce and son Cole and his family. She is also is survived by her four grandchildren, Ryan MacNeill, Cole’s son,  Joy Fante and her family, April Rapisarda and her husband and Kristen Bechtold and her family..

In accordance with Marion’s request, the family will not be having traditional services. Colin wishes to thank friends for their thoughts and prayers.

William A. Forrester III “Alec”, 72 of Southport, North Carolina died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

 Mr. Forrester was born January 16, 1938 in New York, the son of the late William A. Forrester Jr. and Mary McClave Forrester. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Forrester started his business and family life in Rochester, NY where he was in finance and banking. He was a member of the Rochester Yacht Club. He was an avid boater and spent may wonderful family vacations sailing on Lake Ontario. Mr. Forrester followed his dreams to North Carolina where he retired with his wife of 50 years. He spent many happy hours on his porch with his dog Maggie.

 Surviving are his wife Joan Cadle Forrester; four children, Heather Mary Forrester of Hamburg, NY, Ellin Scalise (Allen); Bill Forrester (Trish), and Jennifer Forrester (Dave Lathrop) all of Rochester, NY; a brother Norman Forrester (Bill Griffen) of California; a sister Anne Forrester of Vermont; 14 beautiful grandchildren; one adorable great grandson; and many beloved friends and neighbors.

 The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 23, 2010 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church where he was a member, with Reverend Barry Kubler officiating.

Sharron Lee Bartlett, 46, of Supply died Tuesday, August 10, 2010.

Sharron was born in New Hanover County on October 2, 1963 to the late William Henry Singletary and Iniss Baker Singletary.

Survivors include two sons Michael Singletary of Supply and William Barton of Southport; one daughter Clarissa Barton of Supply; three brothers Bobby Baker of Oak Island, George Singletary Sr. of Bolivia, and John Singletary of Supply; one sister Debra Holloman of Southport; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1pm Sunday August 15, 2010 at Faith Community Chapel, Sunset Harbor Road, Bolivia with Reverned Charles Drew Officiating.
