Mr. Hewett was born in Brunswick County on November 17, 1947, and was the son of the late Nettie Hewett. He was a Tug Boat Captain with Cottrell Engineering. Mr. Hewett was a member of Shell Point Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Milliken Hewett of the home; a son, Korey Hewett and wife Becky of Supply; a daughter, Kim Stanley and husband Jamie of Shallotte; four grandchildren, Kody Hewett, Andrew Hewett, Jamison Stanley, Karley Stanley; a sister, Martha “Tinker” Northrop of Rocky Point.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 2pm at Shell Point Baptist Church with Reverend John Brooks and Reverend Tommy Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Larry Edison Hewett, Larry Evans, Eric Evans, Terry Evans, Mark Hewett, Craven Hewett.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at Shell Point Baptist Church and other times from the residence.

Thank you all for the comments. We love each of you dearly. Daddy was a very humorous spirit and deinitely loved life with laughter! I loved him so much and miss him dearly…..I know he is resting peacefully now. I love you Daddy and you will always be in my heart!!!
