Man I can’t believe it! It doesn’t seem real that I’m doing this! But my greatest memory of Trav is just his positive attitude, his sense of humor, and just an all around great person. I never seen him angry or depressed or down, he always had a smile in his face and such a positive person. he’s a great friend of mine and I will miss him dearly! My heart goes out to the family and all of my friends, his closest friends, and anybody who has ever come to know this great guy! You will be missed! Much love and god bless!

I’m devastated by this very sad news. I’m the Mom of one of his highschool buddies, and Roach was ALWAYS respectful of me and my husband. His visits were welcome, as he entered our home with a smile that brightened us all. Sometimes he’d stop in at my office on the Island, just to say ‘Hi!’ Such a waste of a rare young, gentleman, and a wonderful life. I can hardly make my brain and my heart believe it. My most sincere condolences to the family.

9

You are one loved person Travis. I am honored to have known you and had you as a friend. You last posted that we must endure pain to experience joy.I know that there’s a great spot for you in Heaven with no pain. I love you Roach.

10

My heart goes out to each and every member of the Modlin and Roberts family. Travis was a great guy and he leaves all of us will so many fond memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless you all.

Travis was so full of life and instantly loved by all. May he rest in peace and may God help heal the pain and sorrow from the many hearts of which Travis touched.

12

Travis grew up with my son, Tommy Daniel, and spent many hours at our house as a young man. He was always polite and happy. He spent a couple of vacations with us and I will treasure that time. Tommy and I will sorely miss Travis but will always have those memories to cherish.

Travis was such a great person to be around, always full of life… He will be missed by so many.. Seems like yesterday we were all walking across stage to begin our lives but unfortunately some lost their lives too soon… I can see him and Jason laughing and cutting up on the streets of gold right now, you two have fun and we will see you again one day…

16

I still can’t make my heart believe it. You are one loved person by many of people. That smile of yours will never leave my mind. You will always be in my heart and the memories of us will never fade. Love you and miss you. Until we meet again….

I will always remember Travis smiling and laughing. His kindness towards others and how he seemed to exuded positive energy. May God comfort his family through this sad time. He will be missed.

20

Our hearts go out to the Modlin and Roberts families. I can not express the sorrow that our hearts are feeling. Travis (Roach) and my son Chad Staradumsky were members of South Brunswick Baseball team in high school and he was always upbeat and possitive. Some comfort will come knowing that he gave life to 6 (7) different individuals. He will be missed. Our sympathies go out to you. Kara, Joe, Chad and Andy Staradumsky

Shirley, Art and Family – our thoughts and prayers and with you. May fond memories bring you some peace and comfort.

33

It was always good seeing Travis as he always had a great smile and sense of humor. I will miss seeing him at the Club. I have been fortunate enough to know him and Chad throughout the past 10 years and mourn with the family and friends over this loss. I pray the laughter and good memories will comfort and ease the pain.

34

I have delivered food all over Southport and Oak Island for the past 8 years and it seemed like Travis was at almost EVERY restaurant I would go to. His smile and the way he would always take a moment to say hello and ask how you were was a true highlight on the days I would see him. The love and memories people have of him are a true testament to the incredible person he was. The ripples he made in the ocean of life even reached a humble delivery guy like myself….. My prayers go out to the families.

Our love, prayers and thoughts are with you! We watched Travis grow up, and his wonderful smile and great, big hugs were the BEST!!
Wishing you peace during this very difficult time — and hoping that soon the memories will replace the sadness!

41

I did not personally know Travis, but my brother David “Floyd”, was good friends with Travis, Chad, and Sarah. From stories that my brother has shared about Travis and Chad it seems that you have raised 2 fine young men. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Shirley and Art,
I first met Travis when he was about 10 years old when I worked At Hughes Gas & Grocery, and watched him grow up. He was a great kid, always respectful, and never, never, without that smile. To tell you I’m sorry seems so inadequate, and there are no words to express how I feel. He’ll always be with you and I hope you will lean on God to comfort you in this terrible time of your life. I’ll be thinking of all of you.

I am so sorry to read of the death of your son. I lost my daughter when she was 20; in a different, but equally sudden and tragic way. I know it brings such very deep sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you each grieve in your own way. After a time I stopped asking “Why?” and turned my grief over to God, who then brought me peace. I wish the same for all of you. You will remain in my prayers.

48

Travis was a friend the Johnson family and he was a gracious host to me when I’d come down to Oak Island for vacation to visit my brother Ryan and his friends. Travis was very polite and extremely fun to be around. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of such a good person. I’m going to miss him and send my condolences to his family and friends.

49

Travis and I were friends as long as I was in public school. He was one of the nicest people you’d ever meet. I hope you’re in a better place, Travis. My sincere condolences go out to his family.

50

I had the privilege of being one of Travis’s teachers at Oak Island Preschool, and loved watching him grow up. Travis was always special to me, and even when he was a young adult, he’d hug me tightly whenever our paths crossed. He was a wonderful, warm, and very loving person. I was heartbroken when I got this very sad news, and my heart goes out to all who loved him.
