Dear Barbara and kids, my deepest sympathy is with all of you. I worked with John for 18 years. He was a wonderful man to work with and I saw what a wonderful family man he was. He was a truly good person. I’ll think back to all of his funny stories about growing up or business trips he’d tell at the company luncheons we’d have. He brought all the life and laughter to those luncheons. I feel privileged to have known such a good person.
Best regards,
Lynn

Dear Barbara and family,
I worked with John for many years. I know first hand of the major contribution he made to ABB Inc. in resolving Combustion Engineering’s historic asbestos related liabilities. He was highly respected by all who knew him both personally and professionally. I am proud to have been a friend and collegue.

I am Johnny Dickhoff’s first cousin, Jeanne. I will forever
remember a wonderful childhood spent with Johnny and his
brothers and my sister, Mary Ann. I know that John and
Sissy will be “cutting up” in heaven to the delight of their
grandparents and my Dad and Uncle. Never forget…because
I know I never will. To the good times! love, Jeanne

Dear Barbara,
I have not had the pleasure of meeting you and the family and for that I have deep regret. Approximately two months ago I began to search for John as I wanted to re-establish contact with him. I called his mother and spoke with her and Ramond. Apparently John and you had just moved from Connecticut to North Carolina. I grew up with John as a family friend, neighbor, school mate and we played sports together. John had exceptional qualities. He was a wonderful person, talented and caring. I could always trust John and came to realize the value of his advise and counsel. I know that you and your family have suffered a great loss. I wish there was something I could say or do to comfort you. I hope that you and your family can find some comfort in your memories and in the thought of the happy years you shared. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. God bless you! Sincerely Jay LaFlair and Family

Dear Barbara and Family,
I worked with John for 18 years at the Travelers and then at CVCSC and he was the best boss anyone could ever ask for. He was a teacher and a friend to all who came in contact with him especially myself. Thinking back, I miss the stories he would tell about his younger years and we would all just laugh. He will truely be missed. I know God is now watching over you and your family during these difficult times. Our prayers are with you always.
Sincerely,

Dear Barbara and Family,
I had the honor and privilege to serve on John’s team of lawyers in Texas. John was universally respected and admired by the community of those involved in asbestos litigation in Texas and throughout the country. His honesty, leadership, and vision was remarkable and unmatched. I am sorry for your loss and what must have been a difficult journey over the past year. Your family remains in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to send my most heartfelt condolences to you Barbara and your family on your loss. Although 3 years younger than John, we were in the high school together for a while as there was no middle school or Jr. high back then. My memories of John are still very much etched in my mind. He was all that everyone here says he was but he was also a fun loving and most times very funny guy. Always a smile or a laugh to share with many. He will be missed. I only wish i could have seen more of him over the years. All my best wishes to you and the children.

He was a wonderful, honest, cheerful, generous, loyal, and always focused friend and colleague. I had the pleasure of being his lawyer for insurance coverage for a number of years and made many trips to CVCS. It was a shock to learn of his passing while trying to figure out why an email bounced. My prayers are with the family.
